UEFA verdict on Balotelli racism allegations due next week

UEFA are set to announce the verdict of their hearing into allegations that Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli was racially abused by Porto fans next week.

Balotelli was allegedly subjected to monkey taunts from home supporters during the first leg of City’s Europa League last-32 tie at the Estadio do Dragao on February 16.

The control and disciplinary body of UEFA, European football’s governing body, was due to consider the matter yesterday but tonight said the outcome will not be published until next week.
