Hayley Turner has ridden out for the first time since being hospitalised in a fall on the Newmarket gallops last month.
The leading lady rider spent several days convalescing after the incident, but has been stood down by the British Horseracing Authority until March next year to allow her head injury to heal fully.
Turner is the Face of the 2009 Derby Festival and was at Epsom as the course unveiled their new Duchess’s Stand.
She said: “I am fine and started back riding out yesterday morning.
“I saw the specialist yesterday and there are no problems riding out. I rode out for Michael Bell this morning and it was like getting back on a bike.
“Driving here and looking at the track I was wishing I would be going into the weighing room and riding, but it is brilliant to be involved in this event.
“There are a lot of questions being asked and it is possible I will be appealing against the BHA decision.”
