This clip of Roy Keane shutting down a reporter over James McCarthy's future is so Roy Keane it hurts

This is the awkward moment Roy Keane shuts down a reporter over questions about James McCarthy’s future at Everton in true Roy Keane style.

The reporter asks him if he has any advice for the Everton midfielder after he wasn’t put in the starting squad – but Keane quips that he started against West Brom just a few weeks ago.

All the typical elements were there: the general tenseness of the conversation, the icy stare into the reporter’s soul and, of course, a short-but-not-sweet put down at the end when Keane scolds that he should “do his homework”.

Brutal scenes.
