Taylor to lead Team Ireland at opening ceremony

Boxer Katie Taylor has been selected by the Olympic Council of Ireland to be Ireland’s flagbearer at Friday’s opening ceremony of London 2012.

The four-time World Champion is Ireland's leading medal hope at this year's games and she has been chosen to lead the 66-strong team into the Olympic stadium on Friday night.

The Bray fighter also played a key role in having women's boxing included in this year's games.
