Supporters and team share final Euro 2016 rendition of the Fields of Athenry

Shattered by the outcome but proud of the performance, the Republic of Ireland team and their fans shared an emotional moment in the stadium in Lyon yesterday.

The players were devastated by the defeat to France but made their way over to acknowledge the supporters who have stood behind them every step of the way.

And there was only one song to sing.

From the highs of Lille to heartbreak in Lyon, the team, travelling fans and supporters have shared an incredible few weeks at Euro 2016.

This seemed like a fitting end.
