Super gesture as loyal supporter lifts All-Ireland cup with Kildare captain

One of Kildare’s most dedicated fans got the opportunity to walk up the steps of the Hogan Stand with the winning team today, writes Stephen Barry.

Jennifer Malone, from Clane, is a loyal supporter of the Kildare footballers and Kilkenny hurlers, even making headlines last month for her sporting gesture towards defeated Waterford star Pauric Mahony.

Mahony, who saw his late free saved by Eoin Murphy before being comforted by Malone, sent a signed jersey, hurley and framed photo of the moment to her as thanks for the support.

Malone is also a loyal follower of the Irish rugby team, even getting to hang out with the squad at a training session in Carton House.
