MSK Zilina v Chelsea

Chelsea lined up as predicted by coach Carlo Ancelotti yesterday with youngster Daniel Sturridge in attack for their opening Champions League game against MSK Zilina in Slovakia.

Sturridge got his chance in the absence of the suspended Didier Drogba.

Israeli international Yossi Benayoun made his first full appearance for the club in midfield in the absence of injured Frank Lampard. Yury Zhirkov made his first start of the season at left-back in place of the rested Ashley Cole.

Zilina made one change – L’ubomir Guldan replaced Stanislav Angelovic at right-back.
