Sligo Rovers 3 Cliftonville 0

Goals from Danny Ventre, Eoin Doyle and Padraig Amond eased Sligo to victory as they rubberstamped their topping of Setanta Sports Cup Group 1 with this facile win at the Showgrounds.

Midfielder Ventre headed home skipper Alan Keane’s cross for the lead goal on 39 minutes.

The game was up for Cliftonville in first-half stoppage time when Matt Blinkhorn set-up winger Eoin Doyle to shoot home the second.

Striker Amond added a third goal on 86 minutes, again from a Blinkhorn assist, as Paul Cook’s side cruised into the semi-finals.
