Samaras sits out cup tie

Celtic striker Georgios Samaras is still sidelined for tomorrow’s Co-Operative Insurance Cup third-round tie at Falkirk.

The Greece international picked up a nasty shin injury against Hapoel Tel Aviv in last week’s Europa League defeat, after crashing into his own club’s dug-out, and missed Sunday’s 2-1 Clydesdale Bank Premier League win over Hearts.

Hoops boss Tony Mowbray could use the game to give a rest to some of his first-team regulars such as Scott Brown, Shaun Maloney and Andreas Hinkel.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Hinkel, McManus, Loovens, D Fox, N’Guemo, McGinn, Caldwell, McDonald, Brown, Maloney, Killen, McGeady, Zaluska, Naylor, Crosas, McCourt, Caddis, Robson, Mizuno.
