Rovers rescue point against City

Shamrock Rovers 1 Cork City 1

Gary Twigg’s third goal of the season tonight salvaged a point for Shamrock Rovers to deprive Cork of a fourth win on the spin.

Midfielder Colin Healy put Cork in front on 66 minutes with a terrific free-kick after Billy Dennehy had been fouled.

Twigg earned Rovers their point however, when punishing poor defending to shoot home seven minutes from time.
