Rose a doubt for Black Cats

Rose a doubt for Black Cats

Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill will make a late check on full-back Danny Rose ahead of Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Norwich.

Rose returned to first-team action as a substitute in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at QPR and reported a little tightness in the hamstring which had sidelined him for the previous two games, although he is expected to be available.

Striker Connor Wickham has returned from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday and is in the squad, winger James McClean could figure after illness ruled him out of the game at Loftus Road – but skipper Lee Cattermole is still sidelined by a knee problem.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Westwood, Bardsley, Rose, O’Shea, Kilgallon, Bramble, Cuellar, Mangane, N’Diaye, Gardner, Colback, McClean, Larsson, Johnson, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Fletcher, Graham, Wickham.
