Regime on Curragh duty

Connections are hopeful of a good run from Regime in the High Chaparral EBF Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow.

The four-year-old, trained by Michael Bell, is expected to improve for his seasonal debut when he was seventh to Royal And Regal at Newbury last month.

“He’ll like the ground and he’s run well at the Curragh before when he was second in the Goffs Million as a two-year-old,” said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.

“He didn’t quite get home in the John Porter at Newbury on that ground, although he did run well.

“He’ll strip fitter and a mile and a quarter on easy ground should suit him. We’ll think he’ll be thereabouts and competitive.”

Regime’s seven rivals include Irish Derby fifth Mores Wells, Aidan O’Brien’s lightly-raced colt Mount Nelson and last month’s Gladness Stakes winner Jumbajukiba.
