Ramires makes Chelsea bow

Chelsea’s new signing from Benfica, Ramires, will make his full Premier League debut for the Blues against West ham at Upton Park today.

He replaces midfielder Frank Lampard was sidelined with a hernia injury.

Captain John Terry has recovered from a hamstring problem to make his 300th Premier League start, and he is joined in the centre of defence by fit-again Branislav Ivanovic. Alex has been dropped to the bench.

Salomon Kalou is preferred to Florent Malouda in attack.

West Ham bring in debutants Lars Jacobsen at right-back and Victor Obinna up front.

West Ham: Green, Jacobsen, Ben-Haim, Upson, Ilunga, Parker, Behrami, Noble, Boa Morte, Cole, Obinna.
