Pienaar could face Standard

Steven Pienaar could make his first appearance of the season in Everton’s UEFA Cup match away to Standard Liege tomorrow after recovering from a broken toe.

The South African midfielder travelled to Belgium for the first-round second-leg match, with the scores level at 2-2.

Striker Victor Anichebe was also in the travelling party, having been carried off in the first leg with a knee problem.

Tim Cahill, who starts a three-match domestic ban on Sunday, will also play, while new signing Marouane Fellaini is cup-tied and will not face his former club.
