Papac pens new Rangers deal

Rangers defender Sasa Papac has signed a new one-year contract extension, the Clydesdale Bank Premier League champions have announced.

The Bosnia international signed from FK Austria at the start of the 2006/07 season and has become an integral member of the side which won a third successive SPL title this season in Walter Smith’s last campaign as boss.

The 31-year-old left-back’s current deal was due to expire this summer, but now he will be part of the new regime under Ally McCoist, Smith’s successor as boss, and new owner Craig Whyte.
