O’Neill’s release 1916 jersey to commemorate Easter Rising

By Stephen Barry

Irish sportswear giant O’Neill’s have released a commemorative 1916 Rising jersey.

The green jersey contains a pair of harps on the front, with a print of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic on the back.

As O’Neill’s moves towards their own centenary celebrations, they say they are “proud and grateful to be involved in commemorating the 100th Anniversary of this compelling event from which modern Ireland developed with this commemorative jersey”.

O’Neill’s was founded two years after the Rising on Capel Street, which had suffered much damage from the fighting in the city centre.

If you fancy displaying your patriotism with this jersey, it’s on sale for €55 (€43 for kids).
