Trainer Eoghan O’Neill is hoping Folsomprisonblues will be up to the mark in the Mountgrange Stud Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
The colt steps up to Group Three company in the race registered as the Horris Hill Stakes, with just one run behind him as he has been sidelined since making a winning debut at Newcastle in May.
“He’s an intended runner at Newbury,” said Newark-based O’Neill.
“He hurt himself after his first race and it has taken a bit of time to get him right, but he’s fine now.
“It’s a big step up and a big ask for him, but he’s a nice horse and I’m sure he’ll run very well. I wouldn’t be sure if he’s capable of winning, but for me it’s the logical step.”
