Ronan O’Gara has dismissed any concerns about being appointed to coach his former Ireland rival Johnny Sexton at Racing Metro.
The 36-year-old turned down the offer of a contract extension with Munster to join Racing where he will work as a specialist kicking coach, alongside writing
“The relationship has come full circle,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Obviously, we had a difficult start together but he’s a person I greatly admire and I’ve had a good time with him.
“I think as a kicker and a player, as a top professional, we have gelled over the years.
“As kickers we share the same mentality, we’d obviously have quiet moments together and go for lunch together.
“There isn’t much coaching left in Johnny to be honest.”
