No Jan for a month, Celtic to assess four others

Celtic have been dealt a blow with the news that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks.

The Holland striker has yet to recover from the groin injury he sustained in the win over Hamilton earlier in the month.

Hoops boss Gordon Strachan will also assess the fitness of Scott McDonald, Shunsuke Nakamura, Artur Boruc and Georgios Samaras following the international break but does not anticipate any problems.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Wilson, Caldwell, McManus, Robson, Nakamura, S Brown, O’Dea, Crosas, McGeady, Samaras, Maloney, McDonald, M Brown, Donati, Hartley, Caddis, Naylor, Hinkel.
