New-look Potters face full strength Fulham

Asmir Begovic is included in Stoke’s starting line-up to play Fulham in their Carling Cup third round tie at the Britannia Stadium this evening.

It is a first appearance of the season for the goalkeeper, who had been left out of the squad to face Shrewsbury in the previous round after he reportedly refused to play.]

Begovic is one of seven changes to the Potters first XI, with only skipper Ryan Shawcross, Robert Huth, Matthew Etherington and Kenwyne Jones retained from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham in the Barclays Premier League.

Jones has kept his place despite coming off against the Hammers with a groin problem.

Fulham boss Mark Hughes has named a strong team as promised, making only one adjustment, with Zoltan Gera replacing Damien Duff.
