New European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup revealed

The EPCR launched the new European Rugby Champions Cup in Dublin today - the replacement for the old Heineken Cup competition.

The new trophy, alongside its sister trophy the Challenge Cup, were shown off in pictures with some of the stars of the upcoming competition.

Ulster's Rory Best, Munster's Peter O'Mahony and Leinster's Jamie Heaslip were all in attendance.

The EPCR also posted a video online showing the making of the two new trophies.

Confusingly, it was also confirmed today that the sponsors of the new competition would be Heineken.

The first round of fixtures in the new competition will take place over the weekend of October 17-19.

Leinster welcome Wasps, Munster are away to Sale and Ulster are away to Leicester.

Full fixture details can be found here.
