Moutinho extends Sporting deal

Everton target Joao Moutinho has signed a contract extension with Sporting Lisbon which will keep him at the club until June 2014.

The 22-year-old Portugal midfielder attracted interest from several Premier League clubs after last summer’s European Championships, but last night committed himself to a further year with Sporting.

His previous deal was due to expire in 2013.

The new contract contains a withdrawal clause of €22.5m, Sporting confirmed on their official website.
