Module bypasses Festival

Module is to miss next week’s Cheltenham Festival for which he was prominent in the ante-post betting for three races.

The five-year-old, who holds entries in the Coral Cup, Vincent O’Brien County Handicap Hurdle and Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle, is to wait for Aintree as he has a slight muscle problem.

Trainer Tom George also believes Cheltenham might come too soon in the horse’s career as he has had limited experience.

“Module will not be running at Cheltenham Festival this year,” the trainer told www.tomgeorgeracing.co.uk.

“He has a minor muscular issue and on top of this we also feel having only had four races in his life that Cheltenham may be hard on him taking into account his lack of experience.

“He will therefore be aimed at Aintree.”
