McMahon qualifies for Olympics

Irish swimmer Sycerika McMahon has qualified for the Olympics at the European Swimming Championships this morning.

The European Championships continue in Hungary this afternoon as Fiona Doyle and Shani Stallard take part in the Women's 100m Breaststroke heats.

McMahon was just three tenths of a second shy of the Olympic A time in this event at the recent Celtic Tri-Nations in Dublin.

Bethany Carson will swim in the heats of the 100m Freestyle and Melanie Nocher will compete in the 200 metres Backstroke final.

Nocher broke an Irish record in the heats yesterday and will be out for the Olympic A standard this evening.
