Mayo up pace in second half

ALLIANZ NFL DIVISION 1A

Mayo 1-15 Offaly 0-10

Mickey Moran's Mayo chalked up win number two in NFL Division 1A thanks to a brilliant second-half performance in Castlebar.

In wet conditions, the healthy contribution of six second-half points from deadly duo Conor Mortimer (0-4) and Ger Brady (0-2) inspired Mayo past the midlanders.

While Pat Casey's lob finish produced a 23rd-minute goal for the home side, Offaly led 0-8 to 1-4 at the break with notable points from Ciarán McManus and Tommy Deehan (0-2).

Paschal Kellaghan and McManus were Offaly’s only scorers after the break as Mayo’s Billy Joe Padden and James Gill bossed the midfield.
