LoI round-up: Rovers win again to keep eight-point advantage over Bohs

Shamrock Rovers retained their eight-point lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division after beating Derry City this evening.

Aaron Greene scored just before half time to give the Hoops a 1-0 victory at the Brandywell.

Elsewhere, second placed Bohemians had a comprehensive 3-0 win over UCD at Dalymount Park.

Dinny Corcoran, Conor Livingstone and Daniel Grant got the goals in the comfortable win.

Finn Harps made the trip to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk and lost to the champions 3-0 while St Pat's got the better of Sligo Rovers 2-1 at Richmond Park.

And at the RSC Waterford beat Munster rivals Cork City 2-0.

Cork City experienced a fifth league game in a row without a win as they fell to defeat against Waterford at the Regional Sports Centre on Friday night.

While the Blues have endued a tough week off the pitch, they took the honours in this Munster derby, going ahead through Shane Duggan before Zack Elbouzedi secured victory in injury time.
