Liverpool had a mountain to climb against West Ham so Phillippe Coutinho immediately started trending

Liverpool faced a scare in the first half against West Ham, squandering a 1-0 lead to go down 1-2.

Despite some questionable keeping from Loris Karius and Liverpool having scored a goal, the blame for the side’s slump was immediately pointed in one direction – missing Phillipe Coutinho.

For some fans it’s been all too much since their 24-year-old Brazilian talisman was put out of action…

Many just miss him.

And for others things have just got gradually worse.

Be strong Robbie.

While others we reckon probably aren’t Liverpool fans had some jokes to make.

To be fair the Reds have signed a lot of Southampton players over the past few years.

And in fact even their own fans are cracking wise about the team from Merseyside.

Maybe that one was more of a jab at Watford. You leave the Hornets alone!

Ah so Hull are getting some abuse too.

Others think his absence has been affecting Liverpool’s other Brazilian forward – Roberto Firmino.

However, the fans have at least decided Senegalese forward Sadio Mane’s influence may have been improved by Coutinho’s absence.

But with Mane away at the African Cup Of Nations in January when Coutinho looks set to return, it could be a tough winter for Liverpool fans.
