Leiva to start for Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva will make his first appearance for three months after being selected to face Southampton at Anfield.

The Brazil international had only 74 minutes of previous Premier League action but has been immediately recalled, along with Jonjo Shelvey, as manager Brendan Rodgers made two changes from the defeat at Tottenham.

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins, a boyhood Liverpool fan, has gone with the same team which drew with Norwich in midweek.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique, Lucas, Allen, Shelvey, Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez.

Subs: Jones, Sahin, Henderson, Downing, Carragher, Fernandez Saez, Wisdom.

Southampton: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Shaw, Puncheon, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Ramirez, Lambert.

Subs: Kelvin Davis, Hooiveld, Steven Davis, Rodriguez, Ward-Prowse, Mayuka, Reeves.
