Late point secures Fermanagh win

Paul McManus held his nerve to strike a late point and shoot Fermanagh to a hard-earned win in today's NHL Division Three Shield final at Markievicz Park.

After Leitrim's top scorer Clement Cunniffe had levelled in the 70th-minute, McManus shot over just two minutes later to decide an enthralling affair.

Jason McManus' fourth-minute goal handed Fermanagh an early lead but Cunniffe soon found the net for a 1-5 to 1-5 half-time score line.

Leitrim nosed ahead before two Declan McGarry points brought the Ernesiders back on terms and they just had the legs on their Connacht opponents.
