Klose out of Germany qualifiers

Germany striker Miroslav Klose has been ruled out of the forthcoming European Championship qualifying double-header against Austria and Azerbaijan.

The 32-year-old Bayern Munich striker sustained a rib injury after coming on in yesterday’s 2-1 friendly international defeat of Uruguay and a scan has established he will be unable to train for several days.

Germany coach Joachim Low said: “It is unfortunate that Miro will not be available and we hope he makes a good, quick recovery.”

Low’s side play Austria in Group A on Friday and follow up four days later with another away match against the Azeris.
