Sylvester Kirk is hoping Fathsta can continue to surprise him when he tackles the Betfair Sprint at York tomorrow.
The three-year-old has had 24 races in less than 13 months with his latest start coming just last Friday when he was second to Iguazu Falls over seven furlongs at Epsom.
“It’s miraculous – a horse that has had so many runs and still keeps on improving,” said the Upper Lambourn trainer.
“He has progressed with almost every run. He’s dropping back to six which I’ve had in the back of my mind for some time.
“Hopefully there’ll be plenty of pace on. It seems to count more what’s around you than where you are actually drawn.
“He might run a stinker and at some point he deserves to the way I’ve treated him. There’s been no moths going around him. He’s in great form and there’s no suggestion that he’s gone off.
“One day he’s bound to say he’s had enough, but he’s as happy as he’s ever been and I’m looking forward to it.”
