Kieren Westwood joins Sheffield Wednesday

Kieren Westwood has joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, the club announced last night.

The goalkeeper has joined on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal with the club.

The 29-year-old had been with Sunderland since 2011, but was released by the Premiership club in May.

The FAI also tweeted their congratulated the keeper on his move.

Westwood has 16 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
