Key players missing for Rovers

Sligo Rovers are missing key players for their clash with Shamrock Rovers at The Showgrounds tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Matthew Blinkhorn is ruled out with a back injury and Gary McCabe is serving the final game of his suspension following a sending-off against Dundalk.

Mauro Almeida is a long-term absentee with an Achillies injury, although Alan Keane returns from suspension.

Sligo have faced Rovers twice this season, with both games ending 1-1.

Dessie Baker (Achilles) is again an injury doubt for the Hoops and will face a fitness test before the game.

The rest of the squad, apart from season-long absentee Pat Sullivan are available with no other injury doubts or suspensions.

Rovers boss Michael O’Neill said: “We had a tough game there earlier in the season, and are expecting no less in this tie.

“It is always a tough game for any team up in Sligo. And despite their position in the league, Sligo have been doing very well; they are scoring a lot of goals. So we will have to be at our best to get a result up there.”
