Former teammates Jamie Carragher and Dietmar Hamann have had a frank exchange of views on Twitter and it got a little weird.
Carragher is one of many who have been critical of current Liverpool keeper Loris Karius in recent weeks and Hamann has leapt to the young shot-stopper’s defence.
Carra is out of order too. Karius is 23 years old and played over 100 top flight games. Outrageous comments, deserves a little more respect https://t.co/DV7Wn2Ldt2— Didi Hamann (@DietmarHamann) December 12, 2016
You can criticise as much as you want but you don't tell an adult to shut up. Poor form https://t.co/gmaaoeqkl1— Didi Hamann (@DietmarHamann) December 12, 2016
Carragher wasn’t too happy with Hamann and decided to pour petrol on the situation.
Shut up. https://t.co/e4ZBjf8Ijl— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 12, 2016
Didi wasn’t impressed …
… but he probably wasn’t expecting this comeback.
You heard....weren't telling me to shut up when I got you out of that Tokyo nick in 2005. https://t.co/LcnMi2E3XA— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 12, 2016
We think this Tweeter summed up all of our reactions.
Not to worry though, Carragher has since reported that he and the “Kaiser” Hamann are still friends.
Me & the Kaiser are ok now! pic.twitter.com/2P0g3Xt2sZ— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 12, 2016
And the Japan story? Carragher has previously said that while in Tokyo for the World Club Championship, he and Hamann got in a spot of bother. It ended with them being chased by police and Hamann spent a few hours in police custody.
Here is the man himself telling the tale.
