Hurling League Division 2B round-up

Armagh and Kildare collected victories in Division 2B of the Hurling League this afternoon.

Kildare always looked likely winners as they stormed to a 5-19 to 1-13 victory over Roscommon at Athleague.

Goals from Tony Murphy (1-2) and Paul Divilly (1-3) helped Kildare establish a 2-8 to 0-6 interval lead.

David Harney (1-3) completed the Kildare hat-trick immediately on the restart.

Cillian Egan netted a goal for Roscommon, but the Lilywhites ran rampant with goals from students Gerry Keegan (1-1) and Martin Fitzgerald (1-0) helping them to an 18-point success.

At Crossmaglen, hosts Armagh powered to a 0-21 to 1-11 triumph as Michael Johnston's charges garnered their second win of the league run.

Armagh led by 0-11 to 0-5 at half-time and although Donal O'Brien netted a goal on the restart for the visitors, the Orchard County showed great composure to win by seven points in the end.
