How did this not go in!? Goalie produces save that’s been going viral

The crowd were already celebrating a goal but that was before Kim Connors had her say, writes Stephen Barry.

Connors was net-minding for Wicklow ladies footballers in the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship preliminary round yesterday.

The underdogs were on the backfoot as Roscommon surged forward in a first-half attack, and a goal looked imminent when Jenny Higgins palmed the ball towards the empty net.

Then Connors produced this dramatic save...

Connors’ efforts have already got over 40,000 views between YouTube and Facebook in 24 hours.

Wicklow went on to pull-off the shock too, with Amy Murphy scoring all four goals in a 4-13 to 3-9 win.
