Have you been following the Jamie Carragher v Mario Balotelli beef on Twitter?

Mario Balotelli didn’t do particularly well at Liverpool. Scoring just one league goal for the club, it seems fairly conclusive that the transfer has not paid off.

And it seems one of Liverpool’s legends hasn’t been all that impressed either.

Ouch. There was absolutely no chance that Balotelli would ignore Jamie Carragher’s tweet – but we didn’t expect this contribution. An outrageous ‘Best Hater’ award for Carra to put in his trophy cabinet.

And trophies make for an interesting comparison: Balotelli has a Premier League title, three Serie A titles, a Champions League title, one FA Cup and an Italian Cup. Carragher can boast a Champions League title, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and a UEFA Cup.

Oh, and obviously a “Best Hater” award, but that goes down as an individual honour.

You might have thought that was the end of the discussion, but when asked for “thoughts on Balotelli” during a Twitter Q&A, the former Liverpool defender couldn’t let it go.

We await Balotelli’s reply with bated breath…
