Harps earn point against Rovers

Finn Harps 1 Shamrock Rovers 1

Conor Gethins scored for the second match running to earn Harps a point.

Rovers were much the better side in the first half and should have been in front on the half hour.

Tadhg Purcell was put clean through on goal by David Tyrrell to set up Padraig Amond, but Gavin Cullen made a super save.

Purcell did have the ball in the Harps net shortly after that only for it to be disallowed for offside.

But Purcell was involved to put Rovers in front two minutes into the second half when Padraig Amond shot past Cullen.

Gethins struck on the hour to level following good work by skipper Tony Shields and strike partner Stephen Parkhouse.
