Garnica out of Gold Cup

Garnica has been declared a non-runner for this afternoon's William Hill (Ayr) Gold Cup.

Dandy Nicholls has taken out the Lady O'Reilly-owned sprinter because of the ground, which is currently good, good to firm in places.

Garnica is also engaged to run in the totepool Supports Variety Club Conditions Stakes at Hamilton on Sunday.

The Thirsk handler still has five representatives in the Gold Cup, a race he has won five times in the last nine years.

Nicholls' Evens And Odds is the general favourite for the six-furlong cavalry charge in Scotland.
