Galway get first win of the season

UCD 0 Galway United 1

Derek Glynn's first goal of the season earned Galway their first win against a troubled UCD at Belfield Bowl.

The win isn't enough to lift Jeff Kenna's side off the bottom, but they are now level on points with Cobh and two points behind fourth-bottom College.

Glynn struck on 51 minutes to punish a mistake by Ronan Finn and shoot past Matt Gregg.

UCD, who've now scored just three times in nine games, had their chances late on but Galway keeper Gary Rogers saved well from Paul Byrne and Finn.
