Galway fall at home to Dundalk

Galway United 0 Dundalk 3

Central defender Michael Hector scored twice as Dundalk eased to victory over a dispirited Galway at Terryland Park.

Hector headed a dominant Dundalk in front on 33 minutes.

Striker Mark Quigley doubled the Lilywhites' lead three minutes before half-time with a fine solo effort, running at the home defence before firing a shot beyond Greg Fleming.

Any comeback was ended on 72 minutes when Hector popped up again to steer home Keith Ward's free-kick.

A post then denied Hector his hat-trick minutes later as Galway slumped to a fifth successive defeat.
