Galway axe Loughnane

The Galway Hurling Board have sacked Ger Loughnane as Galway senior hurling manager.

Board delegates voted by 28 to 26 against his ratification.

Loughnane, who had been manager for two years, was not present at the vote in the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry last night.
