GAA thanks fans for being there

GAA thanks fans for being there

By Peter O’Dwyer

With Championship 2014 drawing to a close last week and Kilkenny joining Kerry as kingpins of their respective codes, a curtain was brought down on this year's action.

It might have ended with the two most successful champions ever regaining their crowns but it was far from a predictable championship season with twists and turns at every juncture.

To mark the momentous season of action the GAA have released a tribute video; except rather than focussing on the players alone, this one's for you too.

The accompanying tagline says it all: "Behind every season, it's you! The fan, the player, the match official, the mentor, the volunteer and EVERYONE that made 2014 a season never to forget - thank you from the GAA - #NothingBeatsBeingThere"

It might be all over for now but there'll be club action to keep us going in the meantime and before you know it Championship 2015 will be on the horizon.
