Ferris wins Ulster player of the month award for January

Stephen Ferris has been voted the the Ulster Rugby Supporters Club (URSC) Player of the Month Award for January 2009.

The stellar performances against Harlequins in the Heineken Cup at Ravenhill and Munster in the Magner's League at Thomond Park were the basis for his award.

He said: “I’m thrilled. We had a couple of great wins in January and to be recognised as a key contributor in those games is great.”

It follows hot on the heels of his major contribution to Ireland's Grand Slam achievement in what has been a wonderful month in the career of the flanker.
