Fans rejoice as Jose Mourinho drops Wayne Rooney

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has dropped Wayne Rooney for today's game against Premier League champions Leicester City.

It comes after the United boss had challenged Rooney to confound the naysayers after damaging, over-the-top criticism during the international break.

However, news of his exclusion from the starting line-up brought joy for some United fans.

Some thought it was a sign that his career is coming to an end.

For others, questions still remained.
