Trainer James Eustace ended a four-month winless spell when Joe Caster took the opener on an eight-race card at Nottingham.
The colt had finished runner-up to Coventry scorer Art Connoisseur on his debut in April but was having his first outing since July.
However, the 4-1 shot strode out well for 3lb claimer Luke Morris to land the EBF Maiden Stakes by two and a quarter lengths from long-time leader Bees River, the 9-4 favourite.
“We’re very relieved. He did everything right and is a cracking little horse,” said Eustace’s travelling head girl Linsey Avery.
“This fellow, like a few of the two-year-olds, has had a few niggly little problems and it’s a welcome winner for the boss.”
