Olive Loughnane has withdrawn midway through the 20km walk at the European Championships in Barcelona this morning.

The Galway-based athlete had been ill over the last few days

The 34-year-old started well but dropped back rapidly before eventually pulling out.

David Gillick and Gordon Kennedy are in action later this evening in their 400m semi-finals
