Duo a doubt for table-topping Hoops

Shamrock Rovers will be looking to stay on course for their first league title in 16 years with victory over Dundalk at Oriel Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Hoops have doubts about Robert Bayly and Dan Murray, who both have knee injuries.

Pat Sullivan (knee) remains out, while Pat Flynn is back in the squad after serving his suspension.

And Rovers manager Michael O’Neill will be hoping to build on Friday’s victory over St Pat’s.

O’Neill said: “It was a very difficult game as we knew it would be. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb by giving away a goal so early in the game.

“However we did very well getting that goal before half time, and it turned out to be an accomplished performance and a great win.

“The last game we lost this season was away to Dundalk, so we’ll be looking to ensure that does not happen again. We didn’t play very well that night, but we have gone on to have a great unbeaten run since then. We will be going into this game looking for a win.”

Dundalk must plan without Garry Breen (illness) and Alan Cawley (back).

And defender Liam Burns is a doubt as he is carrying an injury.
