Dunne fitness monitored

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes will monitor Richard Dunne's fitness ahead of the Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday.

Republic of Ireland central defender Dunne was forced to sit out the UEFA Cup victory over AC Omonia last night because of a hamstring problem.

Martin Petrov has recovered from a similar problem and is pushing for a place in the starting line-up after coming off the bench.

Provisional squad: Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Dunne, Ben Haim, Garrido, Ball, Elano, Kompany, Ireland, Hamann, Fernandes, Petrov, Wright-Phillips, Robinho, Jo, Schmeichel, Evans, Sturridge, Glauber, Etuhu.
