Drogs struggle to win over Dungannon

Drogheda United 1 Dungannon Swifts 0

Mark Leech scored the only goal as Drogheda had to settle for a narrow win from a match they dominated for long spells.

Leech struck on 44 minutes when latching onto skipper Declan O’Brien’s square pass to see his scuffed shot trickle to the net past Swifts keeper Gavin Cushley.

Swifts were better into the second half but Drogheda should have added a second goal on 66 minute, Stephen Bradley blazing over after Cushley had done well to parry Damien Lynch’s shot.

Lynch then had to clear off the line right at the death from David Bulow as Swift almost snatched an unlikely equaliser.
